Chapter 43: Plot for Revenge [Christian POV]
"Sir, how did the meeting go?" asked Blake.
I walked over to my desk and took a seat, loosening the tie around my neck.
"It went well. I signed a deal with him. We’re both happy. He even mentioned the wine you sent over yesterday at least a dozen times," I replied, dropping a few folders of documents on the table.
After a momentary pause, I noticed that Blake was still standing in my office.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Sir, I’ve been meaning to ask....Are you sure that assigning the season launch to Miss Moresi was the right thing? A poor season launch can tarnish Sophia’s reputation for many years..."
I couldn’t help but sigh deeply. His concerns were valid, and it was true that Sophia would suffer significantly from a poor season launch, but I knew that Leslie would stun the world.
"Don’t worry. She’s more talented than meets the eye, I believe in her ability," I replied.
Blake nodded, lowering his head, "Forgive me, sir, I didn’t realize. I thought you only assigned her this job due to her being your fiancée’s sister."
"It’s fine. Just remember, outside of you, no one else knows that she’s the one in charge of this project. Understood?"
Blake quickly nodded, "Yes, sir!"
