Chapter 146: tricked

"You bastard!" Jason swore darkly and from the look on his face right now, it’s clear he’s contemplating charging at Alex to punch him again. The first punch had been a completely wrong move, we weren’t in any place to throw punches right now. Instead, we’re in a place to beg and grovel, because that’s what it seems like we might end up doing at the end of the day.
Jason was clearly just trying to control his anger but he was woefully failing at that. To avoid a fight from breaking out, I was quick to slide in between them, hands held high.
Alex let out an amused snort as his eyes slowly raked over every inch of my body.
"So what would you like to do? The ball is in your court now." He informed me, eyes darting over my body once again.
I didn’t know why but I had a feeling that Alex was just messing with me right now. He looked better than I even imagined. Someone like him can get any one he wants, without having to stress at all. It made no sense that he was still obsessed with Rory to this very moment.
"I have a feeling you don’t really want me though." I finally began, breaking the silence. Everyone was silent so far, even Alex’s armed guards were silent and clearly listening in.
"Is that so?" Alex crooned and I nodded once before shoving my hands into my pocket for a moment.
We stared at each other without saying anything. I could feel Jason’s scent grow more sour and annoyed as the seconds ticked by before he finally threw his head back and laughed a little.
