Chapter 140: Caught In The Act

We were exiting the small cafe together when Rory suddenly stopped dead in his tracks, a shocked expression across his face.
"What’s wrong?" I asked him before following his line of sight and my eyes landed on the new husband of Raya. His presence wasn’t what was shocking at that moment, it was the fact that a woman was beside him, along with two kids that looked just like him.
"That bastard!" Rory gritted out just as Jason returned to ask if we were okay because the kids were already waiting in the car. Jason didn’t even look surprised when he realized what was going on, and Rory still looked very furious.
"I knew there was something off about him! Something just didn’t seem right about him!" Rory continued, face firmed in a scowl as he continued, clearly very furious.
" I told Raya he might just be out for her money but she felt insulted and I had to apologize! But see! I ended up being right!" He continued. " When he came to talk to me at the wedding, he revealed that Raya had told him of what I said about him, and he didn’t even bother trying to change my mind. Look at the asshole and his little family. Do you guys think his wife is aware of what he’s doing?" He suddenly asked again and I felt myself shrugging a little. We were standing at the corner in the cafe and Peter and his family still hadn’t noticed us. They looked very cozy and cute together, his wife and him had even shared a kiss at one point during their meal together, so clearly there was no way he could lie his way out of this.
"What do you think I should do?" Rory asked and I shrugged, completely on the fence when it came to Raya. I wasn’t fond of her since I heard she believed her husband over Rory’s words, but at the end of the day Rory still helped her out unlike some other people who’d have decided to get revenge on her by finally getting into Trevor’s bed. And now that he tried helping her again, she went ahead to tell her husband about what he said. Clearly from the sounds of things, this raya is forever gonna be dumb. Like, it was a lost cause for her and she wasn’t gonna be saved at this point.
I felt a little bad for her but not bad enough to feel sympathy for her.
"I think we should just mind our business and leave." I finally said and Rory gasped.
