Chapter 21: Alone Once Again
So, the alpha I spent the entire night with was getting married tomorrow.
To a woman.
Could that be why he rejected me? Because of a woman?
That bitter feeling which usually clings to every inch of me whenever I was feeling heartbroken engulfed me and I suddenly got an urge to cry.
Of course, what did I expect? For him to leave a woman for me? Of course I’d always be a second choice, now and forever.
The thought felt painful in my chest and I exhale slowly to prevent myself from bursting into tears. When I glanced sideways, I noticed the man was peering at me
"Are you alright, sir?" He asked and I hastily cleared my throat while nodding, hurriedly dragging my arm over my eyes.
He didn’t seem like he believed me but he thankfully remained silent and led me through the large compound till we arrived at the large gate. I turned around and offered him a strained smile.
"Thank you." I spoke softly and the suit claded man bowed a little.
