Chapter 51: Undauntedly Fiery!
Awestruck by the thing that Dr. Albert put on the table before Kylian, he forgot to blink his long dark lashes for a second. His ocean eyes rolled in disbelief and confusion, followed by an awkward pause, he averted his gaze back at Dr. Albert’s stiff face, demanding an explanation.
It was a specifically customized black-leathered collar, with an appearance similar to typical dog collars, however in size, this one was bigger. Just from one glance, it was clear to understand that this kind of collar was built for people with broad neck areas, and Kylian coincidentally happened to be present as the perfect example.
Despite being built with pure shining black leather, countless pointed prickly spikes that seemed to be made of pure silver were covering the entire black leather. Judging its absurd build, the collar somehow gave an eerie impression when Kylian glanced at it for the first time.
Somewhat expecting his dumbfounded reaction, Dr. Albert didn’t wait for his question before he started elaborating while pointing at the spiky-looking collar, "Just to clear the confusion, this kind of collar is specially designed for omegas to wear on their neck, especially when they are in their heats."
"What..." Stunned by his clarification, Kylian couldn’t help but grit at him, "Omegas...wear this kind of fuckin’ crap on their neck?"
"I believe you do not know the potential dangers encircling an omega’s life." His voice grew a bit stiff when Dr. Albert exhaled a deep sigh, "The rare dominant omegas who happen to experience irregular heats wear these kind of collars around their neck which acts as armor against an Alpha’s attack. I think you must have some idea about what it means to imprint, right?"
The sudden change in the doctor’s tone winced Kylian, but scratching the back of the head in confusion, he responded, "Well, um, yes...while studying about Alphas, I had learned somewhat about how an imprint works between an Alpha and an Omega. My mother is also a single omega mother, but I don’t think she was imprinted, despite having me."
"But now you transitioned into an omega instead, so you need to properly learn about how imprinting works!"
Dr. Albert sounded a bit discontent from his tone as if he was getting irked by his nonchalant responses. His brooded eyes were fixed on Kylian’s perplexed face when he continued, "As I said before, a dominant omega in heat is supposed to be considered as an open vault of treasure without a lock. Once Alphas get the whiff of the sweet pheromones emitted from them in their heat, their carnal instincts grow out of control and most of them happen to attack the omegas by forcefully impregnating or marking them.
"Once an Alpha bites an Omega in heat on his/her nape, the mark will serve as a bond between them. That particular omega will be forever tied to that Alpha and would feel no particular attraction towards any other Alpha. However, in the case of recessive omegas which I have often studied until now, most of the Alphas seemed to abandon their omegas even after imprinting them. Though they move ahead with their lives, the omega either has to bear that mark for the rest of his/her life, or they will raise the child left behind by the Alpha.

The spikes that you see are made of pure silver and the tip of each of these are infused with wolfsbane microparticles. Each of the components is lethal to Alpha werewolves.
