Chapter 31: Do you want to come?
"Kylian?"
Hearing a familiar voice behind this time, Kylian flinched when he turned around. The person was Stephan, standing at a measurable distance from him in that open yard. It seemed as if the bruises on his face and body had healed up to quite an extent due to that potent drug that the nurse had injected him yesterday, but the marks of those beatings from Zenith’s bully gang were still very prominent on him.
However, Stephan hadn’t Kylian before when he just saw him as a tall sturdy boy shivering and fidgety from behind, but he recognized Kylian’s clothes which were the same as what he was wearing yesterday. When he approached him, Kylian turned around with a frightened timid face from his call, which was quite an unusual expression on him!
"S-Stephan?" Baffled but feeling a bit relieved to find a familiar face in that unknown territory, Kylian tried to put on a fake smile to hide his harrowing anxiety from him. "A-Are you feeling better now? Looks like your bruises have healed quite a lot from yesterday..."
"Of course, that kind of potent drug works well on Alphas, so we recover faster." Stephan answered but his orbs narrowed at Kylian’s unsettled body language, as he tried to walk close to him, "But compared to me, you look quite pale and sick, Kyle. You are also shivering, did you catch a cold? What were you doing outside this early morning—"
But Stephan’s words trailed off when he reached a bit close to Kylian. Immediately he leaped a step away, covering his nose before he let out a confused grunt, "What’s with that scent around you, Kylian? Why do you smell...kind of sweet?"
Hearing his grunt made Kylian’s heart thump faster in fear, as the bitter realization struck his mind that despite his short and weak physique compared to others, Stephan was also an Alpha. So following Morpheus’ warning, it would be potentially dangerous to stay near any Alpha when his body was in that disoriented state!
Kylian quietly retreated a few steps back from Stephan, while forging his fake smile at him, "O-Oh, t-that’s my cologne actually, haha! I...I kind of fancy sweet colognes that’s why maybe you caught that scent on me. Anyways, y-you should leave to your room and rest for now, Stephan. S-See you later—"
"Wait a damn minute!" But before Kylian was about to sneak away from him, Stephan grabbed onto his arm, to stop him from leaving.
He fixated his cold eyes on him, and watching Kylian tuck his shirt to cover the skin below his collarbone, he asked, "After we parted ways yesterday, I had hoped you would be able to attend your first class peacefully here, but then I heard you got into some bigger argument again with Zenith. Still, I wondered if you would be at least resting in your room peacefully for the night, but it seems you didn’t go to your room at all!"
"No, I-I was in my room last night," stuttering and nervous, Kylian came up with a prompt excuse while trying to unleash his arm from his grasp. "I just came from my room now because I wanted to t-take a stroll outside—"
