Chapter 414: I don’t Remember You!
Anastasia wasn’t able to complete her thoughts when she suddenly heard a knock on the door.
Right there, the hairs on her spine stood on all ends.
"I’ll call you later," Anastasia said, immediately hanging up on the call when Tracie was about to say something.
The only people that knew where she lived were Julian, Xavier, and Tracie and neither of them had told her beforehand that they would be coming.
Anastasia rushed back to her computer and switched to the front door’s camera footage. There was not a single sign that someone was there.
It was only 5am, and no one would be awake by that time to play ding dong ditch with her. Besides, her neighborhood was nearly empty, giving her the privacy she needed while she committed her murders without any snoopy neighbors nosing around.
Despite the absence of any presence at the front door, Anastasia urged herself to still check it out.
She heard the knock again, louder this time, making her jump. Her heart pounded in her chest as fear clawed its way through her. Was she being attacked?
Without wasting a second, she grabbed the baton she always kept near the door, her grip tightening around it. If this was the situation she had always prepared for, then she wasn’t going down without a fight.
She opened the door with a soft click and poked her head out, only to be met with nothing but darkness. No one was in sight just as she’d predicted. But that didn’t stop her from stepping out and searching closely as her grip on the baton only tightened, ready to use it if she ever needed to.
