Chapter 410: Intimate Moment
"Boss, it doesn’t look like they’re still mad at each other," said someone with his eyes on Samantha and Xander.
From the other side, Bruce could only grit his teeth in anger. Xander’s men were still his trusted henchmen that he’d handed over to him, so no matter what, he could still demand any kind of information from them.
The night after Samantha’s date, Bruce had ordered someone stationed around the house to inform him of what was going on around there. He’d been happy that they’d gotten into an argument. Even though Xander said he never had feelings for Samantha, he knew deep down that he was lying. He loved Xander more than Samantha, but he wouldn’t bat an eyelash if he needed to destroy their friendship.
However, hearing that they weren’t mad at each other anymore made anger surge through the old man’s body.
"Keep monitoring them and report everything to me," he said and hung up on the call immediately. He dropped his phone on a coffee table before him that also contained some liquor. He poured some into the glass and brought it to his lips.
"What can I possibly do to separate them?" He wondered as he drank from the glass. "Maybe I should get Benjamin to propose to Samantha and wed her as soon as possible."
Ever since the day Samantha had been born, he’d always despised her. Even though he despised her, he couldn’t bring himself to kill her. He’d tried it in the past when she was still a baby, and that didn’t work.
Looking at Samantha always reminded him of his late wife who died while giving birth to his daughter, and ever since then, he’d always blamed her for the woman’s death, passing every anger he felt within himself down to her.
He’d also tried to love her—after all, she was his daughter. But each time he tried, he only hated her even more.
When he noticed Samantha getting closer to Xander, he also despised that but didn’t think too much of it because she was only a little girl back then. Until she confessed her love for him.
