Chapter 398: They Are Going To Talk
"So, have you heard anything from the disappearance of Mr. Russell?" Bruce asked Xander whose attention was completely somewhere.
Bruce noticed it but didn’t bother himself with it.
"His family’s private investigator is working on the case, but they still can’t find him," Xander replied, sipping from the coffee he’d ordered earlier. The coffee tasted bitter, making him frown in disgust. He poured some spoons of sugar into it but it didn’t make much of a difference.
He gently pushed it away from him, already ded up with it.
"It’s been almost a week and still nothing?" Bruce asked.
"That’s right. According to his employees, he usually leaves work early on weekends and goes to the bar. But nothing was found out when the investigator went to the bar. He just disappeared," Xander finished.
"Impossible. No one disappears just like that. He’s probably been captured by an enemy," Bruce said, his tone sharp with frustration. He was about to continue, but his words faltered when he noticed Xander glancing to his left—his eyes fixed on Samantha and Benjamin, who were deep in conversation, getting to know each other.
Bruce smirked, leaning back in his chair. "You know, if you keep staring at their table like that, I’m going to start thinking you want to replace Samantha and have a chat with Benjamin yourself."
Xander’s gaze hardened.
He didn’t want to replace Samantha. He wanted to drag her out of that seat and have her sit by his side instead.
Looking at her talk with some stranger made his blood boil and the sight of Benjamin made him want to hold him by the neck until he’d taken his last breath.
