Chapter 388: Finalized
The king and queen glared daggers at the trio as they exited the palace. If looks could kill, they’d have ordered the guards to finish them off right there. After all, the trio hadn’t even brought bodyguards to protect them—an oversight the royal couple found tempting.
"There’s no way this is going to happen," said King Theous as he left the chair and headed to his room.
His wife immediately followed him.
As soon as they stepped into their massive bedroom—almost as spacious as the living room—she gently closed the door, leaving it slightly ajar.
"Just who do those people think they are to enter my palace and threaten me with such a thing?!" The king roared, his skin turning crimson red as a sign to show how furious he was at that moment. "How did they even get their hands on that information?"
"You need to get a grip," his wife said softly, patting his shoulder in an attempt to soothe him. "We have to figure out our next move, but first, you need to calm down so we can think this through properly."
"There’s no need to think things carefully. I’ll be sending a few guards to the hotel they’re staying at and have them assassinated. That’s the only right thing that’ll happen right now."
Jelzem sighed.
"Can you even hear yourself?" she snapped, her voice rising with frustration. "Do you really think they came here without telling anyone? If you kill them now, everyone will start looking at us with suspicion. And what about the evidence they have? If it gets out—especially if something happens to them—our entire plan will fall apart. We’ll be back to square one!" Her tone was sharp, exasperation etched across her face.
