Chapter 381: Get Them Paid
Anastasia stared at the baby factory before her, a cold fury bubbling up inside. Just months ago, she’d been dragged to this place, her body treated as nothing more than a vessel to profit off of, her womb to be exploited by Xander and Samantha for their twisted purposes. Now, standing on her own, her steps unchallenged by Tibo or Tura, she couldn’t help but feel a bitter satisfaction.
Just like the first time she’d come to the place, it was calm and peaceful with the women walking about, exercising, touching the flowers, or chatting casually to pass the day.
Anastasia adjusted the sunglasses hanging on the bridge of her nose, as she walked inside, following the lead of one of Julian and acting like this was her first time coming here.
It was finally the day they would be signing the documents and starting their partnership. Anastasia was glad everything was happening within a week, now she needed to plan phase two of her revenge which was using her partnership with Xander to take him down.
Julian casually led Anastasia towards the flight of stairs, and Anastasia thought she saw someone familiar. She turned, but it seemed the person had disappeared
Slightly shrugging her shoulders, Anastasia headed for the stairs. She was grateful she hadn’t worn heels today—she remembered the factory had only stairs, no elevator. The thought of navigating them in heels made her wonder how Samantha managed her day-to-day life, always strutting around in those four-inch heels.
When they reached the office, Julian opened the doors for her.
Just as expected, Bruce was available, casually sitting on a couch with his legs crossed.
During her talk with Tracie at the restaurant, Bruce and Mr. Wallace had an unusual connection between them especially after he’d almost killed the twins’ father.
