"X." She said, shocking Xavier, but his grip around the gun only tightened. "I’m not an enemy," she began because, from the looks of things, he wouldn’t bat an eyelash before shooting her. He’d saved her from the enemy earlier, but who was going to save her from him now? "I was the one that helped those girls escape."
A huge frown settled on his face, but he kept quiet.
"I’m not an enemy. I’m..."
Anastasia froze at the sudden loud bang echoing from the entrance of the building. The noise momentarily distracted Xavier, giving her the opportunity she needed. Without hesitation, she kicked off her heels and sprinted further into the chaos. With no weapon to defend herself, she had to stay alert, carefully avoiding any enemies she might encounter along the way.
She huffed as she panted, searching for where she could hide when she suddenly heard footsteps from behind her.
"Stop right now, or I’ll shoot you," she heard Xavier warn, and instantly, she stopped in her tracks.
Her emotions were in complete turmoil now. She had never expected to meet Xavier here, standing face-to-face with him under a completely different identity—one that left him unable to recognize her.
"What did you mean when you said you’re not an enemy?" He questioned her, but she didn’t reply, only standing with her arms up in surrender with her back facing him. Now, he couldn’t read the expression she was giving. "Turn around, and answer me," he ordered.
Anastasia did as she was told to, but still didn’t reply yet.
