Chapter 341: More Puzzles To Solve
"I’m not going anywhere with you," Fiona claimed. "And I’m not talking to you about anything."
Tracie chuckled lightly. "Are you the one that killed Arabella Santos and pinned the blame on Xavier Wallace?"
Fiona stood frozen in shock at the words that spilled out from Tracie’s mouth. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. The accusation hit Fiona hard against the chest as she stared at Tracie.
It’d been many years and she thought she wouldn’t be asked by anyone regarding the sudden death of Arabella. But she’d been wrong.
Fiona’s mind flooded with possibilities. Possibilities of if they were after her so they would get rid of her. Her hands turned sweaty, her eyes darting from one place to the other, trying to find words that wouldn’t land her into any more suspicion.
"Me, kill someone? That’s a very punishable crime and I suppose you know that!" Although Fiona tried to act strong in front of Tracie, she still shuddered in fright, which didn’t fly unnoticed by Tracie. "I respect the family you come from but I won’t tolerate it when you accuse me of such a thing."
Tracie hummed in understanding.
"So, let me guess. You killed her—or rather—you asked someone to do that because you were jealous of Arabella. She was dating the boy you were in love with back then anyway, so you had every reason to kill her, am I right?"
"Just stop!" Fiona snapped, exasperation evident in her tone. "This is getting too much now, Ms. Clark. I respect your family but I won’t stand here and watch you accuse me of something I didn’t do."
