Chapter 335: Don’t Joke
Julian was at his mansion eating breakfast with his daughter.
Emma toyed with her food, humming a melody that struck a chord deep within Julian. It was the same lullaby his late wife used to sing to Emma at bedtime, a bittersweet reminder of the love they had both lost.
He was glad Emma was doing better than a few days ago. He’d been busy the past few days clearing up his schedule so he could spend some time with her. He’d attended her PTA meeting, and went on a weekend vacation with her which only lasted for two days.
She didn’t complain about the little time he spent with her anymore, as long as he always showed up, it meant a lot to her.
All of a sudden, they heard someone’s footsteps. Their heads turned in unison only to find Alex, Julian’s friend sizing their food.
When Emma saw him, she quickly left her food to jump into his arms.
"Uncle Alex!!"
"Baby girl, you’re so heavy now. Your dad has been feeding you a little much. You know I’m old, and if you keep jumping on me like that, I might end up breaking my back," he joked as he picked her up.
Emma giggled, her dimples showing on both her cheeks.
