Chapter 319: Avery’s Reveal
Anastasia was sitting alone outside at her usual spot where she, Angelina, and Elizabeth would hang out when they were both still alive.
Although it was getting close to two weeks since their death, Anastasia still hadn’t gotten used to being all alone.
If they’d been there, they would have shared their life experiences despite the situation they were in, while Elizabeth told Anastasia anything she learned about her before she was kidnapped.
Recalling those memories wasn’t one of Anastasia’s favorite things to do because it always caused her to cry. Gently, she wiped off the tears that were starting to stream down her face.
Her days in the house were starting to get longer without any sort of infiltration that could be a good sign that the police or her husband had found out about the place.
Anastasia felt the urge to give up on escaping. Her last attempt had ended in punishment so brutal that death seemed almost merciful. Elizabeth had insisted Xavier loved her; they had shown it to the world. But where was he now? Why wasn’t he here, rescuing her and taking her home? And what darkness could drive Xander to kidnap his own brother’s wife, torturing her as though her very existence was an unforgivable offense?
Anastasia wiped another tear with the back of her hands, her gaze focused on the ground while still in deep thoughts.
Regarding Michelle’s case with her, she didn’t care and she couldn’t bring herself to care.
A memory flashed in her head where she was sitting at a dining table surrounded by people she recognized. It was Amelia, Jack, Robert, and Michelle.
