Chapter 307: Dead Pile
Samantha walked towards Anastasia, her heels surprisingly not sticking to the mud.
Then she grabbed Anastasia by the chin tightly. "I’ve always known you were bold, but not bold enough to try to escape. Do you plan on humiliating us?" She didn’t give Anastasia a chance to reply as she smacked the latter hard across the face.
"You’re trying to bring a bad name to our community!" Samantha accused.
Anastasia grabbed her stinging cheek, spitting the blood that’d gathered into her mouth on the ground.
The slap stung so sharply that she bit down on her lip to keep from crying out. But the ache radiating through her back was worse, each throb intensifying until the pain was nearly unbearable.
"Take her to the cage," she ordered the henchmen who’d dragged her out of the forest.
Anastasia was led to a cage she hadn’t noticed at the start of the game. Its cold, iron bars loomed in the shadows, a silent reminder of the consequences for those who misstepped. Clearly, it had been brought out as a punishment, reserved for anyone who dared to break the rules once the game was underway.
Anastasia was thrown inside the cage like a misbehaving dog and locked inside while her hands fisted the strong bars that made the cage.
"You need to let me out now!" She demanded, but Samantha only spared her a look, a grin on her face before she tore her gaze from Anastasia to look at the forest where the girls were still.
