Chapter 229: Mrs. Perez
Michelle stared at Anastasia with eyes wide in disbelief.
"Why are you denying it? Didn’t you ask two officers to arrest me while I was still in the hospital? You gave them two days for me to recover!" Michelle’s face was already as red as a tomato.
"When did I send two officers over?" Anastasia questioned, her eyebrows furrowed deeply together in confusion.
Michelle turned speechless, not sure if Anastasia was playing with her or if she was serious.
"You sent two police officers," Michelle claimed.
"If I did, then you should be able to point to them, right? Are the officers in this same police station with us?" Anastasia asked, glancing around and waiting for Michelle to start pointing already.
Michelle darted her eyes here and there, but she couldn’t find the two policemen.
Earlier, when they’d wanted to bring Michelle to the station themselves, Theodore had intervened and suggested driving her there himself, while they trailed behind them.
However, since then, she’d completely forgotten about them without caring if they’d arrived or not.
Which could only mean...
’Those fake officers were not only sent to keep an eye on me. They were sent to eavesdrop on my plan to get Anastasia arrested,’ Michelle thought to herself, finally piecing the two together.
