Chapter 218: Did You Love My Gift?
"Am I interrupting something?" They heard someone ask.
Allison’s head instinctively turned to the direction the voice was coming from. When her eyes landed on Kace, she immediately tore her face from him when she felt blood rushing towards her face and ears—remembering what happened the last time they’d seen each other.
"Who are you?" Mr. Quinn questioned when his eyes settled on Kace, utterly annoyed by the interruption. "Can’t you see we’re having a conversation?"
"I’m already done talking to you, so please, leave," Allison said, already feeling a headache due to the presence of her father.
"Who’s this man?!!" Mr. Quinn questioned, sizing Kace up and down. When he noticed the car behind the latter, his eyebrows furrowed as an idea popped into his head.
"He’s my friend," Allison replied. Before she could complete the rest of her words, Mr. Quinn swiftly pulled her further away from Kace where his ears wouldn’t be able to hear what next he wanted to request from her.
"He looks rich! You can ask him to give me the money," he suggested without a single ounce of shame as a creepy smile hung on his lips.
Allison scoffed, unable to believe what her father was suggesting to her. She was aware he was greedy and shameless, but she didn’t expect him to be stupid as well.
"Can you hear what you’re saying?" She questioned, feeling anger surge through her body at that moment.
"What’s wrong with what I’m saying?" he asked defensively, his grin only widening, as if proud of the absurdity he was spouting.
"If he’s willing to pay off my debt, I can finally stop running from the people I owe money to and come back home! We could be together again, you, your mother, and your sister!" He chuckled, oblivious to the tension in the air, completely unaware that what he saw as a solution was nothing more than a pile of garbage masquerading as ideas.
