"Have you always wondered why you couldn’t find the property papers I signed in the first place?" She asked. Without waiting for him to reply, she continued. "Well, that’s because I have them. Father already signed those papers, and everything you think he signed into your name was already signed into my name, dearest brother."
Not only Jack’s but other’s hearts threatened to leap from their chest at Anastasia’s words.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Jack questioned with a clenched fist.
Sighing, Anastasia stood up from the couch and walked towards Jack, who instinctively took a step back because the aura that was starting to emanate from Anastasia felt threatening.
Although a smile had been on her lips since she arrived, that smile rarely reached her eyes. Her eyes never sparkled when she smiled. It felt more like she was smiling at them in mockery.
"It simply means that I’m the owner of everything that belongs to the Harrison family, Jack, and not you," Anastasia explained.
Jack stared at Anastasia with a confused expression.
"You have to be joking. I had Robert sign those papers in my presence. Mother was a witness when he signed the papers!" He barked.
Another pinch of betrayal stabbed Robert in his chest when he heard Jack. He suddenly remembered those papers that Jack had given him to sign. He didn’t bother to read them since he trusted his son so much. Turned out, those were property papers he’d signed.
