"That can’t be. I gave her the orange juice. We all know Anastasia is allergic to oranges and Selene didn’t have any reaction two minutes after drinking it. She couldn’t possibly be Selene," Michelle objected, finding it impossible that there was a chance Selene could be Anastasia. Just a single thought of that made her heart race in fear. She would be done for if that ever was true.
"If Anastasia had been our biological daughter, we would have run a DNA test and figured it out..."
"There’s nothing to figure out Father. Selene isn’t Anastasia. She can’t be! Yes, I know her body was never found, but just like you said, it could have been eaten by wild animals. There’s nothing for us to worry about," said Michelle, trying to convince everyone, more like she was trying to convince herself.
Selene and Anastasia had the same face, voice, height, and every other thing she could point at, but Michelle didn’t want to think about that. As long as Selene didn’t react to oranges, she wasn’t Anastasia.
Robert stared at Michelle; her face tear-stricken as she tried to convince him.
"All that makes sense, but then, how did Selene know how Anastasia died?" Jack wondered out loud, gaining the attention of the other three.
