Chapter 120: Blissful Moment
"It means when I’m with you, I don’t want to ever run away from anything. Selene, I won’t say from the first day I met you but surely after I met you, I felt things I’ve never felt for another woman before. We had a mutual agreement from the beginning. You will continue to be my wife and I will help you with your revenge. But this time around, I want us to act like husband and wife because you mean the world to me."
Selene felt her heart skip a beat at Xavier’s confession. She could tell from his slightly shaky hands that he was nervous.
She had never thought that Xavier Wallace was the kind of guy who gets nervous when he wants to confess his feelings for someone, and she was the someone. Warmth spread through her heart, touching every inch until all she could feel was the love she also had for him.
Xavier waited for Selene to speak, but she only stared at him.
This was what he was afraid of—rejection. He didn’t want to make things awkward between them if things didn’t turn out right after his confession, but he thought it was too late.
"Xavier." He suddenly heard her call him. He raised his head to look at her face and he believed he fell even harder for her.
The way she looked at him, the way her eyes shone brighter than the stars in the sky, it was truly mesmerizing. And for the first time in his entire life, he felt his heart skip a beat.
"I can also say the same thing about you. When I woke up from the coma, I didn’t know what to do, where to go, and how to plan my revenge. But you made everything simple by helping me out. You have saved me multiple times and I know for sure, that without you by my side, I wouldn’t have been able to surpass the obstacles on my way. I can’t imagine my life without you Xavier."
The both of them stared at each other, their heart beating in sync, their gazes locked on each other.
Everything around them seemed to fade away, leaving only each other in focus. The soft melodies from the serenaders drifted through the air, creating an atmosphere that felt both heavenly and blissful.
Xavier fought the impulse to pull Selene across the table and kiss her passionately, until she forgot her own name.
