Chapter 107: Arriving At Fameville
"What are you saying, Xavier?" Claudia questioned her son as she glared at him. "Just because she looks like Anastasia, it doesn’t mean she is Anastasia," she added before her gaze landed on stiffened Selene.
Xavier sighed and pinched the skin between his eyebrows in frustration before he glanced at Selene who nodded at him.
Xavier sighed one more time before he explained everything to his mother and father. Since Selene had already gotten her properties back, Xavier didn’t mind telling his father the truth as well. But after telling them the truth, he doubted his father would go question Robert.
"What?" Claudia gasped with her mouth covering her mouth, tearing brimming in the corners of her eyes as she stared at Selene who was still seated on the dining chair. "Anastasia?" She called her.
Claudia didn’t know what to think anymore. Richard was caught by Xavier attempting to taint Selene’s image and punished him. The Harrison family had tortured Selene before they tried to kill her after they got what they wanted from her.
Claudia was not close with the Harrison family like the way her husband and mother-in-law were, but she had never expected them to be so evil to kill their daughter just because of property papers.
"Yes, ma’am," Selene replied, not sure if she should call her ’mum’ since she was her mother-in-law.
Claudia turned to Xavier.
"What if you had killed Richard? You could have just taken him to the police to have him punished for his actions," she suggested before wiping her tears with the back of her hands.
"That wouldn’t be enough to teach him anything," Xavier responded.
Claudia slumped on a couch beside her. Already tired of the situation. Thomas took a seat beside her to console her.
