Chapter 65: This Isn’t Over
"We were never friends! And do you know who revealed those rumors about you? I was," Michelle revealed without batting an eyelash.
Everyone gasped again, unable to contain their shock at the constant stream of revelations that day. The most surprising of all was Michelle’s involvement. No one had expected her to be the one to spread such a damaging rumor about Selene and Director Jeunes.
Whispers of disbelief filled the room as people struggled to differentiate the seemingly innocent Michelle with the malicious act.
"You just came out of nowhere and stole everything from me. Who do you think you are—" Michelle didn’t get the chance to complete her barking when she suddenly felt her cheeks go numb.
Selene had just struck her across the face.
She held her cheeks, before turning to glare at Selene whose tears had stopped flowing.
"I treated you as a friend, and this is how you repay me? By betraying me?" Selene demanded, her eyes bloodshot as she glared down at Michelle. Michelle’s hands were still on her cheek, trying to soothe the pain from the unexpected slap. Her eyes were wide with surprise, never having anticipated such a reaction from Selene.
"I should have known. I should have known that a goody-two-shoes actress like you was just a fake. On the outside, you act like you are the purest angel. But on the inside, you are a snake. A green snake under the grass," Selene mocked, her eyes flaring in anger.
Michelle was caught off guard again.
