Nikolai’s voice softened despite himself when he spoke to Angelo. "Do you think you can stab through his hands?"
Angelo felt ruffled by the question, was the Mafia King doubting his abilities? When he had been the one to cut his cheek right to the bone?
He rose to his feet with a scoff, moving quicker than the business man could process and leaving behind a dagger running through his outstretched hands and a piercing scream, blood bleeding into the expensive carpet.
Nikolai had an expression of approval at this display, reminded now why Angelo managed to injure him twice, the assassin moved too fast. He focused on the wailing business man looking thoughtful.
"The High Council’s got guts, planting a mole in my casino." He noted off-handedly.
The business man quietened down at his words, his previously muddled gaze going sharp, realizing he hadn’t been able to sell his disguise. He kept his lips tightly pressed together, expecting to be interrogated and tortured.
He had only been at the casino for a few days so he hadn’t manage to learn anything useful but the Mafia King didn’t need to know that. He knew he would be dying regardless so he would be taking all of his secrets to the grave.
"I’ll be taking that," Nikolai said instead, taking back Angelo’s dagger like it had been handed to the High Council spy and not buried in the center of both his palms.
The spy grunted in pain, sweat falling into his eyes, his thinning dark hair damp. He flinched when the bloody knife was wiped on his dress shirt, staining it bloody.
Nikolai held the handle of the dagger tightly, he could still feel the warmth from Angelo’s hands. Then he lifted a hand, a bored expression on his face.
The sound of a gun going off was instant, the spy falling forward over his bloody hands, gagging on the bullet lodged in the side of his neck.
