Captive Mate BL

Chapter 414: + - 414+

Nikolai woke up at the crack of dawn, his room was dark but he moved effortlessly despite the visual limitation. He stepped out of the room after a while of moving around silently, fully dressed, a cigar in hand.

The hallway was lit, the light washing over his cold features as he started for the guest room. The drug should be wearing off soon, he should know, it was what he took to fall asleep, night after night.

He woke up like clockwork after it wore off, his nights dreamless and short.

He didn’t trust Angelo to sit tight for the entire day and he didn’t want to keep the assassin tied up all day. One day was fine, but after a week it would be torture. Angelo seemed like he would like that, and Nikolai couldn’t give him that luxury.

So he settled down on a nearby couch and waited for Angelo to rouse. His men had already rifled through the van that Angelo drove to the apartment complex in and to his disappointment, it wasn’t outfitted with explosives, he had been too hopeful.

All they had found was a discarded set of clothes and it was easy to make the connection that it belonged to Angelo so he had his men get more. Nikolai stared at the assassin on the bed, at some point he had curled up like a little animal, his hair wild.

Angelo could draw his attention in a room full of people, it was no surprise that things ended up the way they did. He didn’t seem like he did anything for the thrill of it, the assassin didn’t have even a single sense of humor.

Angelo didn’t keep him waiting for too long, the Beta slowly uncurling as he roused. Pale eyes peered out of a confused face until they got to where he was seated, only then did Angelo stiffen, a sharp clarity coming to his previously muddled eyes.

"Angelo, you’re up." Nikolai said with a pleasant smile. "Clean up, you’re leaving with me." He said calmly, sitting back in the chair.

Angelo was still half-awake, it was unlike him to be so out of it, as a matter of fact, it was unlike him to fall asleep at all. So it was a fact that Nikolai had put something in his drink, how unfortunate that it wasn’t poison.

"I’m not," He said calmly, his fingers gripping the sheets.
