"So you’ll have these men drag me out?" Caspian indulged her, stepping protectively in front of Lake.
He didn’t know what this lady’s deal was but she made Lake very anxious, and he didn’t like that.
Matilda smugly gestured for the men to come closer, "Merely doing my duties, it’s a safety thing, you know." She went on patronizingly, coming down the last step.
"This is Mafia King Davian’s home, I can’t just let anyone waltz in as they like."
Caspian stared at her blankly as she went on her tirade, unfazed.
Lake didn’t share his confidence, however, he knew a bit of how twisted Matilda could be and how she would still try to kick Caspian out even if they admitted that Davian knew about his visit.
The men that Matilda ordered in came close until they saw who it was they had to ’drag’ away.
Caspian narrowed his eyes at them as they froze in front of him, unhappy with this interruption to the conversation he should have been having with Lake.
Matilda straightened up and cleared her throat nervously. "What do you think you’re doing?" She glared at them, "Take him out."
Caspian couldn’t help but feel bad for the guards who were just doing their jobs because they couldn’t touch him but they also couldn’t ignore Matilda’s orders.
"Leave," He waved a hand at them, turning to face Matilda when they made themselves scarce to her complete shock.
