"I’m actually here for you-" Chris said hesitantly, looking him over like he couldn’t believe his eyes.
"Me?" Caspian forced laughter, "What does the High Council want with me?"
"Well, it’s more with Caspian Mendez..."
"Who?" He interrupted loudly, moving his weight from one foot to another anxiously. "M-My name is Cassia."
Lucy face-palmed where she stood just outside the door. Caspian was such a terrible liar that his flawless disguise might not be able to help him.
"My apologies, Miss Cassia," The representative bowed slightly, "But you’ll have to come with me."
"I’m not going anywhere," Caspian said coldly, fighting the urge to take a step back.
"No, No, I’m just taking you to Mafia King Asher," Chris explained in a rush, worried that Cassia had misunderstood him. "My partners are with him. It’s merely to confirm that we indeed have the wrong person."
Caspian looked nervously in the direction of the open bedroom door, Lucy quick to give him a silent thumbs up, and a reassuring smile.
"Fine," He agreed, going silent so that he didn’t say the wrong thing.
Chris wiped the sweat from his brow, wondering how things had completely gone awry.
