Chapter 49: + - 49+
Jael didn’t bother going through the trouble of waiting for the main gates to be opened up for him, parking outside, and walking in through the side gate.
He went straight for Asher’s bedroom, he could already picture what he would come to meet but a small voice in his head was trying to convince him that Asher couldn’t actually break free of his bonds.
He really hoped that was the case, he wanted to believe that the Alpha wasn’t just letting himself be held captive.
Jael nearly broke down the door to Asher’s room, he could already hear Asher dryly scolding him for his brashness.
It was all in his head though, because the Alpha was nowhere to be found. The leather straps had been wrenched free off the chain links, only his ankle straps left behind.
Jael scratched his head, of course, of fucking course.
He wasn’t worried about the safety of the Mafia King, but if Asher were to lose control and hurt Caspian badly, the Alpha would take the hardest hit.
He wasn’t even going to go after Asher, he would hate to get between him and the fools who had chosen the worst possible time to pull this move.
Jael lit a cigarette as he walked out the door of the bedroom, he would have to arrange for maids to come clean up the room.
He had to admit, he was relieved to go back to his previous duties, there was nothing fun about being a Mafia King.
Once again, he hadn’t been able to prevent Asher from doing something crazy... back to damage control, it was.
