Chapter 28: Half-Blood, Full Curse
"Haha! What did I say back then?" Alex sneered, his voice full of mockery. "You’re beneath me—even if you’re Sir Leo Caesar’s daughter."
A cocky grin spread across his face as he launched another flame spell. The fire sputtered slightly, lacking its usual intensity—his mana reserves clearly draining fast.
The flame hurtled toward Zara.
But just before it could strike, Zara activated her flight magic, launching herself into the air. The flames passed harmlessly beneath her as she deactivated the spell and landed in a crouch, skidding slightly on the arena floor.
Ugh... I need to end this quickly, she thought, breathing hard. If this drags on, my mana will run out.
Without wasting another second, she sprinted toward Alex, gripping her sword tightly.
Seeing her sudden charge, Alex instinctively began retreating, panic flashing in his eyes.
I need to save mana or I’m finished! Damn it—why didn’t I learn swordsmanship?! If I had, I could end this easily...
Zara closed the distance fast, reading his desperation.
Now! she thought.
Gathering every ounce of her remaining mana, she poured it into her strongest spell—Flamethrower.
