Chapter 3: A Deal with System
Somewhere in a cosmic space, in a room, walls were painted blue, and a massive screen displayed the image of Zara sitting in a carriage with a smug face.
In front of the screen, seated in a sleek gaming chair, was a cute little cat with snowy white fur, glowing red eyes, and a fluffy body. Anybody seeing him will want to squish his face.
Seeing her smug face, the cat’s ears twitched, and the moment it heard Zara’s words, it began furiously typing on a futuristic transparent keyboard, its tiny paws moving with surprising speed and precision.
Panic spread across the cat’s face as the screen replayed the scene of Lira’s soul being destroyed. In a flurry of motion, he leapt from his chair and ran toward a device labeled MIKE, activating it to speak directly to Zara.
’It’s over for me, I can’t let the boss know anything about it.
["Gulp! Host! I was just joking about your soul being destroyed! M-My actual job was to collect your soul and guide it to reincarnation. You were supposed to be reborn somewhere else with the system, haha... please forget about my joke"]
A sneer curled on Zara’s lips as she crossed her hands and said, "Oh? Then, where is Lira’s soul? Did she get reborn again somewhere?"
The system quickly tried to change the subject—and succeeded.
["Gulp! Ahh, a-as I was saying... wouldn’t you like to know about my features?"]
