Mother slowly retracted, took in a deep breath and her wolf calmed.
"You have no right nor authority to say such awful things about my daughter." Mother warned. "She is mine to punish as I choose fit. Not yours."
Martha snarled at mother even though she couldn’t t do much.
She herself was aware she had overstepped her boundaries.

She slammed the door so hard the room shook.

Mother was looking down at me, her face a mask of thunder.

I swallowed hard.
"Of all the things you could have done Ruby!" Mother snapped. "Of all the wild things you have done already. This is the worst! This is the most despicable."

And after that he will tell everyone that you have magic because he will find out and he will kill all of us. You don’t know what I’m protecting you from.
