(BL) Hunting The Field Guide

Chapter 369: Just another box

"So where did you hide them?" Rhys asked conversationally as they moved up the staircase. Kellen sighed. He just had a feeling that once he told him, nothing would be secret anymore. He squeezed Rhys’ hand, his own emotions racing, his pulse was probably pounding.

"Uh, well, I had a few shoe boxes. That’s what I usually use for storage." Kellen hoped that the way he said that made it seem like he didn’t hide things in the shoe boxes, and instead just stored things in them. He didn’t think it would get past Rhys, who was well versed in Kellen mannerisms now, but he could hope.

His parents had believed him. His shoe boxes had been safe up until this point. He should trust in the fact that they had lasted this long. They should continue to last.

They got to the top of the stairs rather quickly, too quickly. Kellen wasn’t ready to come face to face with his little secret. He didn’t feel like it was a bad thing, but that didn’t mean that he wanted to explain himself.

He remembered how Rhys had reacted when he’d seen his supply of lube, condoms and other things the first time that they had been together. Kellen now knew that was him testing the waters to see if Kellen could be with him. Now..

Plus, some of the things that Brent had talked him into getting were...strange. And he wasn’t quite sure about them.

Rhys pushed open the door, reaching in and turning on the light in the bedroom. Kellen almost wished that there was someone else in the room, so that they could turn their attention to that. Instead, he watched as Rhys’ eyes began to scan the room. He was looking for where he had hidden it.

Flushed, Kellen gently tugged on his hand and Rhys glanced at him as Kellen moved past him and towards the closet. He wasn’t one for hiding things, so he had put all of the boxes that he didn’t want others to see together. Rhys wasn’t an idiot. He knew one of these boxes held sex toys. Rhys just hadn’t realised that the number had grown, or if he had, he was just being polite and not asking any questions.

"They were here the whole time?" Rhys asked, and that told Kellen that he probably hadn’t noticed. Good. Good.

"Yeah. Well, not the whole time. I left them in the box they arrived in and slipped under the shelves for a few days before I found time to unpack them and check and see if I got the whole order." Kellen told him and Rhys turned to look at him, shocked.

"Damn this power of mine. I had no clue." Kellen chuckled.
