(BL) Hunting The Field Guide

Chapter 336: Is that it?

Kellen shifted where he stood, staring at Lieutenant Fisher who seemed to have a rather grim expression on his face. He knew that even if his Mom had moved away, she had perked up upon hearing those words.

Everyone in the room had something against them, but the Woods’ in particular did. Kellen could feel how everyone’s gaze turned to him, and Kellen stared intently at Lieutenant Fisher, ignoring their looks.

"What did you find?" Kellen asked, realising that no one else was going to ask, not even Sakura. Lieutenant Fisher cleared his throat, shuffling a few papers around on his desk. From his background, Kellen was able to tell he was in the office that Rhys and Kellen had visited after Charlie’s test.

"Well, the reason for calling this emergency meeting is that one of the main uh...they don’t really define themselves, so the easiest equivalent would be lieutenant, has been spotted in the city. We found out that through the person who most recently shot you, Kellen, that they have been the one planning and moving throughout the city. They arrived about 6 months ago and apparently had a bigger, more damaging plan. Everything that we’ve seen so far is just the beginning." Lieutenant Fisher’s words sent a shiver down almost everyone’s spines.

Kellen’s mouth firmed as he heard the words. He wasn’t exactly surprised to hear it. The A. E. G. had been around for at least a few years, and since they had been overseas, Kellen hadn’t paid too much attention to them, but did pay attention when they came up in the news. They had done several attacks, killing several prominent Guides and Esper couples across the world.

It wasn’t a new tactic, since monsters who wanted to ruin people’s lives because they didn’t want others to be happy had always existed, but they had become prolific at it for years. Kellen suspected that they might have been behind the death of his Uncles, but he didn’t want to give these sickos so much control.

If they had just been a group who was upset about their treatment, or the fact that they weren’t able to receive guiding because of conditions or lack of compatibility, Kellen might have felt more sympathy for them.

Instead, they had gone full terrorist mode, and wanted to ruin others lives so that everyone could be miserable, and wanted full control of everything. It disgusted Kellen, and he could feel his blood boil as he realised that a ’Lieutenant’ of this organisation had almost been in the city as long as he had.

That fuck.
