(BL) Hunting The Field Guide

Chapter 313: Side story-Casper’s night out part 1

Casper had never been so disrespected in his life.

He had had some terrible interactions with new recruits, don’t get him wrong. Ian, the Esper who was in the intake above Gwen, hadn’t been anything easy to handle, but he hadn’t stalked him to his home and tried to force himself on him. He had only pestered him at work. While that had been annoying, and inconvenient, it had been manageable.

Now though? He had never been dragged around like a bag of sand by not only someone who was employed, technically, in his department, nor a baby-faced new recruit. And then there was the poor, barely legal, barely healed Guide who had been dragged into all of this and reminded him of a scared bunny.

How the hell, why the hell did they think this was a good idea? If two of the more wild employees of the Guild wanted to have a fun night out, why did they drag them along? Casper was just starting to work on the hole that was in his heart. He didn’t need any of this.

It didn’t appear he had a choice, since no one had come to his defense, not even Kellen. That part stung. He had thought that they were getting closer. Maybe that wasn’t the case if he was throwing him to the wolves.

Casper had been dragged, pulled and pushed out of the Guild Tower by the two, rather similar, members of his Guild, and then dragged further into a cab, about a 10 minute cab drive away, and then was deposited into the throbbing, pumping nightlife of the city.

Casper had never been here. He’d never needed to be here. He had too much on his plate, and dancing and drinking wasn’t really his scene. He preferred long bubble baths, with maybe a cup of tea or a glass of wine, and a book.

The smell of alcohol hit his nose and he scrunched it up. Ugh. Maybe he was going to forgo drinking for a while if that was the smell that was going to plague him after this visit.

"Do you think there is going to be dancing?" Charlie whispered to Casper while the other two were busy chatting with people who he had no idea how they knew. Casper glanced at Charlie, knowing damn well that it was his task to keep this man safe.
