Chapter 106: The Eaglet’s Choice
Naomi’s eyes widened as she froze in Zylan’s arms, her legs still wrapped around his waist. Realizing how intimate and awkward their position was—especially with Rylan there—her face flushed an even deeper red. She began to wriggle, trying to loosen herself, though a spark of excitement bubbled within her at the mention of the Eaglets’ arrival.
Meanwhile, Rylan scratched the back of his head, turning his face to the side, avoiding eye contact with both his boss and his boss’s wife.
"You may go," Zylan said calmly.
Rylan sighed in relief. Who knew his boss could be so gentle and soft? He shook his head, still surprised by what he had just witnessed. Zylan, noticing Naomi’s attempt to free herself, frowned slightly.
"You can let go now," Naomi said, her voice shy yet firm.
But Zylan shook his head. "Not yet, Eaglet," he teased. His tone was steady but playful, and he glanced at her, his eyes gleaming. "Do you want to see the Eaglet?"
Naomi’s head moved in an eager nod before she quickly recomposed herself, aware that showing too much excitement might provoke Zylan to....
"Yes," she replied, forcing a calm demeanor.
Zylan smirked knowingly. "It seems you’re getting too excited," he teased, his voice laced with a hint of amusement.
"No, no, I’m not," Naomi blurted quickly, shaking her head. "Of course, it’s normal for the owner to want to check if their pet matches the description. We don’t even know if they swapped the last one we saw, maybe for advertisement purposes. It’s important to make sure our Eaglet is strong and healthy," she added, rambling to cover her enthusiasm.
Zylan watched her, a smile tugging at his lips. Her nervousness was endearing. Finally, he set her on her feet with a gentle motion.
