My Vampire Beloved Husband

Chapter 95: Hidden Paradise

Zylan felt speechless. He stood frozen, his body stiff as if locked in place by an invisible force. Naomi’s actions had stunned him to the core, leaving him teetering between disbelief and suprise.

How had she managed to do this to him again? He couldn’t tell how long he’d been standing there, paralyzed, his mind caught in an endless loop of trying to process her behavior.

It felt as though she had turned him into a machine—one she could switch on and off at will. Each time he thought he had regained control, she’d surprise him, leaving him defenseless once more.

His gaze shifted to her, his steely resolve melting under the weight of her expression. Naomi puffed out her cheeks like a child, her golden eyes wide and shimmering with mischief. The way she blinked up at him, pleading silently, was maddening. How could someone look so innocent and infuriating at the same time?

Zylan let out a sigh, his shoulders relaxing slightly as he finally found his voice. "Eaglet, this is no joke," he said, his tone slow and deliberate, though his voice betrayed the faintest tremor of amusement.

Naomi straightened her face, her lips pressing into a firm line as she nodded. "I’m very aware of that," she replied with feigned seriousness, but Zylan wasn’t fooled. Her eyes sparkled with barely contained laughter, and she bit her lower lip in a poor attempt to hold it back.

He narrowed his eyes, torn between scolding her and laughing along. She looked like a kitten waiting for a treat, her wide-eyed innocence impossible to ignore. And yet, beneath her adorable antics, he sensed the underlying thrill she always seemed to carry—an energy that left him disarmed, time and time again.

"Naomi..." he began, his voice dropping lower, but she didn’t let him finish.

She wrapped her legs and arms tighter around him, her head nestling against his shoulder. "Don’t forget to use your vampiric speed," she whispered, her voice brimming with excitement.

Zylan blinked, momentarily stunned. His grip on her tightened instinctively as he tried to process her words. This woman... she wasn’t just unbothered by the revelation of his true nature—she was excited. Thrilled, even. How could she act like this after learning that he wasn’t human?

He stared at her, his expression unreadable as conflicting emotions churned within him. Damn it, this eaglet always had her way of catching him off guard.
