My Vampire Beloved Husband

Chapter 87: Whispers of Desire

Zylan was still stunned by her earlier boldness. He hadn’t expected Naomi, of all people, to say those words. His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, trying to process what had just happened. As he continued carrying her, still caught off guard by her sudden courage, he gently pulled back a little, his eyes scanning her face. He needed to see her more clearly—was she drunk, or had she taken something she shouldn’t?

"Are you...?" he asked softly, only if she knew how those words damn... this wife of his could effortlessly turn him on. Damn.

Naomi surprised him once more. Her voice was steady, unwavering. "No, I’m not," she replied quickly, though she herself had been surprised by her words. His hands were gentle as he laid down on the bed, her body still resting atop his. It was only then that he realized how close they were, how intimate the moment had become. Without thinking, he pulled her into a tender embrace, his face pressing against the side of her neck.

Naomi could feel his steady breathing, each inhale and exhale deep and soothing. A flutter of butterflies stirred in her stomach. The feeling was unexplainable—too many emotions collided inside her at once, and she didn’t know how to handle them. She had never felt so vulnerable, so alive, all at once. Her body was frozen in his embrace, unable to escape the comfort of his arms, even as her mind raced.

As she was about to close her eyes, giving in to the comfort of sleep, a thought suddenly flashed through her mind. She hesitated, the question pressing against her chest like a weight. It was too much to carry alone, and so she whispered, her voice barely audible in the stillness of the room.

"Zylan..." she murmured, her breath catching in her throat as if the words were fragile things that might break if spoken too loudly.

He hummed in acknowledgment, his presence calm and reassuring, like an anchor in the storm of her thoughts. He didn’t speak, but she could feel his gaze on her. He was waiting.

Naomi bit her lip, unsure of how to continue. She felt the weight of her own hesitation, but a spark of determination lit inside her. Slowly, deliberately, she spoke again, her words trembling but soft. She couldn’t stop herself. The question had to be asked, even if it scared her.

"Since our marriage... have you...?"
