Chapter 89: Duties (1)
Noah prepared himself to hear news of his son ending up captured by the town guards or found dead somewhere because of the silly games he wanted to play.
Noah had long noticed that Warren had grown to be someone who wanted what others have. When Kate told many stories of how she was once spoiled and the home they stayed in was testament to that, Warren wanted to live well above what he could afford.
"We should have sold it and left," Noah said, regretting the decisions they made.
After the death of Kate’s uncle, Noah proposed the idea of selling the mansion since it was too much for them to manage and they would have more money, but Kate was against it. Kate did not want to get rid of her childhood home.
This home was the one thing Kate had left which reminded her of her old days. She didn’t want to move to a smaller home, and Noah had no right to do it behind her back since it was all in her name.
Before Clark passed, he protected all that Kate owned, so her husband had no claim to it. Noah didn’t know how a man like Clark managed to do it, but he didn’t bother to change it around so he would be in control of Kate’s money.
Noah already had what belonged to him for staying with Kate.
"He’s going to get all of us in trouble," Noah whispered, annoyed by Warren’s behaviour.
It would have been more suited for him and Kate not to have a child. Then Noah wouldn’t have to worry about Edgar nor hear about Simon’s old home.
