Bound to the Triplet Alphas

Chapter 113: Mother’s Trail

ARIA POV

I ripped the picture in half, my hands shaking with rage.

It showed me as a five-year-old, playing alone in the pack’s training yard. Someone had been watching me even then. Taking pictures. Planning. "Elder Malin knew," I whispered. "He knew everything from the beginning."

"Aria, you need to see this," Frost called from across the abandoned temple.

I looked up from the scattered photos. We’d been hiding in the old refuge for three days while I recovered from using too much power. The other freed wolves were sleeping, finally safe behind walls blessed by the Moon Goddess herself.

Frost held up a leather notebook that had been hidden in Vincent’s briefcase. "This belonged to your mother. Her real name is written inside."

I stumbled over, still weak from my fall in the forest. Frost opened the book to the first page.

Property of Elena Moonstar, Luna of the Northern Packs.

"Elena Moonstar," I breathed. Not Luna Selene like Vincent had said. "Why did he lie about her name?"

"Maybe he didn’t know her real identity," Jaxon offered. He’d barely left my side since I’d fallen. "Read more."

I turned the page with shaky fingers. My mother’s handwriting was neat and careful, nothing like my messy scrawl.
