Chapter 103: The Journey Begins
ARIA POV
"Duck!" I shouted, pushing Mira down as a strange dart whizzed over our heads. It hit the wall behind us with a hiss, releasing a cloud of silver mist.
All around us, chaos erupted as Silas’s forces pushed deeper into our land. The humans with him carried weapons I’d never seen before—guns that fired darts filled with a substance that made werewolves fall instantly.
"We need to get the triplets to the safe room," I told Mira, my heart pounding as I thought of my kids. "Now!"
We raced through the halls, avoiding panicked pack members. Outside, I could hear fighting—growls, shouts, and the odd scream when one of those darts found its target.
Kael met us at the nursery door, blood dripping from a cut above his eye.
"We’ve pushed them back at the north gate," he reported. "Jaxon and the Beta squad are holding the east. Lucien is treating the wounded in the middle hall."
I nodded, trying to keep my fear under control as I rushed to the cribs. All three babies were awake but strangely quiet, their silver eyes watching me with unsettling awareness.
"We need to go underground," I said, picking up Luna while Mira took the boys. "The tunnels are our only chance."
An explosion shook the building. Dust rained from the roof.
"They’re not just trying to capture us," Kael said grimly. "They want to destroy everything we’ve built."
