Chapter 67: Broken Trust
ARIA POV
The pack house door crashed open as I kicked it with all my power. Elder Reed flew backward, slamming into the meeting table. Maps and papers spread everywhere.
"You!" I shouted, my voice shaking with rage. "You’ve been helping Elder Malin all along!"
The pack members gathered in the room gasped. Lucien and Kael rushed to my side while Jaxon moved to block the exit.
Elder Reed wiped blood from his lip, his eyes moving around for escape. "Luna Aria, you’re confused. The spirit inside you is making you nervous."
"Don’t lie to me!" I held up his phone, which Dr. Lena had found hidden in Lucien’s bandages. "Your messages to Elder Malin. The locations of our safe houses. The timing of our guard movements. You’ve been the rogue all along!"
Elder Reed’s face toughened. "You don’t understand what’s at stake. The First Wolf will kill us all if you don’t reunite with your mother."
"My mother?" I laughed bitterly. "You mean the woman who let half her spirit be put in her unborn child? Who watched me grow up from afar, influencing my life?"
The room fell silent. I could feel the pack’s eyes on me - some confused, others betrayed, a few even afraid.
Lucien stepped forward, his cuts still healing. "How long, Reed? How long have you been working against us?"
Elder Reed straightened his shoulders. "Since before Aria was born. I was there when the process happened. When Lyra’s spirit was split."
